A little about Hermès Leathers:

Togo: Textured and anti-scratch calf leather. Is lightweight, yet holds it’s shape. This is the most popular leather for Hermès Birkin Bags. Hermès Leather: Togo
Hermès Leather: Clemence Clemence: Textured and anti-scratch leather like Togo. Made from a baby bull. The grain is less deep than Togo, causing a more “matte” effect. Clemence leather is lovely and soft - one of my personal favorites.

Fjord: Also textured and anti-scratch. Made from an adult Bull. More durable than Togo or Clemence, even waterproof!

Hermès Leather: Fjord
Hermès Leather: Calf Box Calf Box:Classic smooth calf leather. A more rigid structure than the grainy leathers. Will show scratches more than the textured leathers, but over time it will develop a beautiful “patina”. Calfbox is one of the few skins that can be re-conditioned by Hermès - they send it to France to the original craftsmen that created the piece, and it will be returned almost as new!

Chamonix: Another variation of smooth calf leather similar to “Box”, just matte instead of shiny. Frequently combined with white topstich. Looks great on Kelly bags…very sophisticated. Distinguished by natural "Hermès Made In France" blindstamps instead of the usual printed tecnique. Can be re-conditioned.

Hermès Leather: Chevre

Barenia: Another variation of smooth calf leather . Like “Chamonix”, it's frequently combined with white topstich and is distinguished by natural "Hermès Made In France" blindstamps. Can be re-conditioned. A beautiful leather originally used for saddles, but looks great on bags as well!
Epsom: The new Courchevel. This leather is grainy with a slight sheen. Lightweight and durable. A great alternative to Calfbox: wont scratch and will hold it's shape. Hermès Leather: Calf Box
Hermès Leather: Chevre Chevre: Made from goatskin. This leather is textured thus anti-scratch, but is also shiny and rigid. Ultra lightweight. A very interesting skin - more expensive than calf leathers. Rare.
